As the owner and design lead of Design Playground, I am the go-to project manager for business owners seeking awesome design solutions for visual communications needs.

I have an affinity for typography in design and this fascination has continued during the revolution from the use of traditional printing techniques that then morphed into digital design applications. I maintain a design sense and command that spans the best of both worlds, and a breadth and depth of knowledge that helps me translate clients’ needs into powerful communications solutions. Through the years, I have developed a trusted network of printers, illustrators, additional designers, copy editors and tech people who now all help to make Design Playground the best place for professional and successful design solutions.

Having worked with a gallery, publishing houses and dozens of personal clients in commerce and entertainment, I bring a wealth of experience and creativity in traditional and digital design applications to every project, personally seeing them through from concept to final implementation.

Music is the muse that inspires me, continuously expressing the creativity that has pulsed throughout my life in the Arts. After studying percussion at Humber College in Toronto, I apprenticed as a graphic designer at my father’s firm and continued on after he sold the company to No Bounds Advertising. I headed up the Advertising & Promotion department at Keirstead Gallery in Kingston for two years prior to joining Gage Publishing as a designer. While still in demand for small business clients, I was sought out for contract work which translated into a fourteen-year association working as a designer with Pearson Education, Penguin Group Canada, and Penguin Random House Canada.
